The FDA food code - Click on the link below

Another thing you should be familiar with is the FDA Food Code. The Food and Drug Administration or FDA is an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. In an effort to maintain public safety, the FDA collaborates with other agencies and publishes a model Food Code. The FDA code is the best resource for making regulations that ensure food is safe and secure. The content of the code is intended to help local agencies that oversee food safety. The Texas Department of State Health Services has developed uniform standards for food retail establishments in the state of Texas known as the Texas Food Establishment Rules (TFER).You may also be required to follow local regulations if your local regulatory agency has implemented more restrictive requirements.
